Founded in 2023 by teacher and therapist Susan Jarman, True Connection NE CIC is a social enterprise providing a range of fully funded or subsidised services for residents living in South Tyneside.

Our Mission

To provide people in South Tyneside with services to enable them to:

  • connect with their present selves through healing past trauma and overcoming unwanted current behaviours, such as addiction
  • connect with their future selves through enhancing motivation, recall and general study skills, whilst transforming mindsets around learning
  • connect with their family and the living world through nature-themed cookery events

Our Vision

To enhance positive connections within and between people of South Tyneside and the local environment, enabling every person to reach their true potential.

Blossoming Cooks

Cookery and nature classes & workshops which aim to foster a child’s natural sense of wonder for the world around them.

Events can be tailored to suit the needs of children aged 3+, incorporating seasonal themes, ingredients and activities.

Sunrise Program

The Sunrise Program is a 6-week bereavement programs with the aim of offering support to people who have lost someone and feel they have also “lost” themselves, but who are ready to lift some of the weight of grief and re-discover their true selves. The programs incorporate 1:1 private sessions with a certified Havening Techniques practitioner, group workshops aimed at boosting wellbeing and confidence plus social opportunities to combat isolation.

“Get Back to YOU” Trauma Therapy Program

Designed for people feeling “stuck” or that they have “lost” themselves in some way – possibly due to traumatic events, a bereavement, an unhealthy relationship or slipping into an addictive habit or unwanted behaviour.

“Clear Mind Learning” Workshops

The “Clear Mind” approach was developed  over the last 20 years based upon a combination of  classroom experience in a variety of settings, including working with a wide range of students with specific learning difficulties, along with evidence-based research, to help students of all ages and abilities access learning in a more effortless, natural and creative way.

Workshops are available for staff, students, parents and therapists.
